Students have access to discounted monthly passes from Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB) and Baselland Transport AG (BLT). Additionally, the students have an Eco-Pass Travel Card that covers the city of Basel's public transportation and various surrounding areas by trams, buses, and SBB trains at reduced prices. 

Various discounts are available for the students to travel across borders with Germany and France. Furthermore, students who wish to travel to different parts of Switzerland can use the railway network at discounted rates. 

The Student Services office at the University of Basel handles all the student services. 

• The Social Services counsel and support students with financial, health, and social challenges at the University. 
• The Career Service Center helps the students to launch their careers successfully. 
• The Student Advice Center provides information related to the courses at the University, studying and work techniques, and choosing the right program. 
• The college has various food services, canteens, and cafes on campus. Some student cafeterias include Restaurant Basel and Kaffi Biozentrum, Cantina e9, Ristorante Borromeo, and many more.

• The University has a very active student life and sports life. 
• The University offers more than 100 sports, movement and body awareness activities. 
• The University has more than 100 student associations and organizations present on campus. 
• Various student initiatives, associations, foundations, and traditional student societies are also on campus.

The University does not provide on-campus housing facilities for national and international students. Students have to look for off-campus housing in the city. Most students prefer to stay in Kleinbasel, where the rents are lower and have an active nightlife. The average rental charges range from 800€ to 1200€ (64,000 to 96,000 INR) per month. 

• Students can use WoVe, the student accommodation service and a charitable organization that finds and rents suitable value accommodation in Basel. 
• Through Unimart at the University of Basel, students can look for flats or rooms to rent. 
• Through ZiUm, students can look for private rooms in the city, a platform by the University. 
• Various student accommodations include Borromaum, Pro Filla House, Evangelische Studienhaus Meierhof, Katholische Studentenhaus, and many more.
