UNDERGRADUATE
As an international undergraduate aspirant, follow these steps to apply to the University of Connecticut:
- Determine which application you will use: International applicants must complete either the Common Application or Apply Coalition with Scoir.
- Submit the application fee: The application fee is \$80 and can be paid online through the chosen application. You can also pay by check or money order, but it must be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions directly with the applicant's name and date of birth.
Submit your application materials: In addition to the application fee, you will need to submit the following materials:
- Official secondary school transcripts: Your transcripts must be translated into English if they are not already in English.
- Standardised test scores (optional): If you choose to submit standardised test scores, you must submit either the SAT or ACT.
- Essay and two optional letters of recommendation: Your essay should be about 500 words and should discuss your academic and personal goals. Your letters of recommendation should be from teachers or other mentors who can speak about your academic abilities and potential.
- Proof of English-language proficiency: Submit proof of English-language proficiency by taking the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic exams.

POSTGRADUATE
International students hoping to pursue graduate studies at the University of Connecticut should follow the steps below for applying:
- Complete the online application: You can find the application on the UConn Graduate School website. The application fee is $75.
- Submit your transcripts: You must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended, translated into English.
- English language proficiency test scores: You must submit scores from TOEFL or IELTS to showcase English language proficiency.
- Write your statement: Your statement is your chance to tell the admissions committee why you wish to study at UConn and why you would be a good fit for the program.
- Submit your letters of recommendation: Submit two or three letters of recommendation, given by professors and professionals who know you well.
