Waterford Institute of Technology Alumni Association includes various graduates operating all over the world. The Alumni Association supports students in working with high-profile public and private corporations. The association allows students to participate in guest appearances, guest teaching opportunities, networking, etc. Some of the notable alumni members of the university include Henry Shefflin (Irish hurling manager and former player), Setanta Ó hAilpín (Sportsman, footballer), John Halligan (Irish former Independent politician), David Cullinane (Irish Sinn Féin politician), Grace O'Sullivan (Irish politician, have been a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), Eoin Murphy (Irish hurler, Player for Kilkenny Intermediate Championship club Glenmore), and Ann Phelan (Former Irish Labor Party politician).
